Job description

Position Overview:

The Quality Manager will provide support for product/process quality activities within PICA. Areas of assignment may include customer complaints, product failure investigations, corrective actions, Product/Process improvement efforts, documenting FAIR activities, writing, and updating work instructions, inspections and checklists, and quality system support. Work with the manufacturing team to analyze problems and opportunities and plan for improvements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as the primary management representative for Pica Manufacturing Solutions & Pica Product Development ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 certifications.
  • Oversee the CAR, SCAR, & NCMR system.
  • Generating operating procedures as required.
  • Analyze and report on supplier quality metrics.
  • Work with suppliers to improve overall performance (FAIR & CPK).
  • Report on company quality metrics.
  • Direct process/product improvement efforts.
  • Direct supply partners on quality and failure analysis efforts.
  • Interface with customers on quality related issues.
  • Interface with supply partners on quality related issues.
  • Ensure the company complies with statutory & regulatory requirements.
  • Implementation and maintain the Quality Management System.
  • Maintain documentation control system.
  • Perform and review supplier audits
  • Review and approve internal audits
  • Oversee all aspects of incoming, in process, and final inspection
  • Undertake additional responsibilities or activities as required by the Quality Director.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support supplier audits, customer meetings, and global manufacturing alignment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Understand quality systems, ISO 9001 & 13485 standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues for components, materials, tools, programs, equipment, and Electrical Test.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create, review, and revise operating procedures, work instructions.
  • Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem-solving methods, such as fishbone diagrams, 5 why, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, etc.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills (PICA has locations and customers domestic & overseas).
  • Electrical testing experience – an advantage.
  • Statistical software capabilities.
  • Effective multitasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with frequent shifts in direction.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of Six Sigma (preferred) 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of work experience in Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, quality management, or manufacturing management is preferred.
