Job description

Are you passionate about building intelligent systems that make AI agents truly useful, and leading teams that ship foundational infrastructure at scale? We're looking for a Senior Software Development Manager (SSDM) to lead our Agent Intelligence Platform team within Quick Engineering, the organization behind Amazon Quick.

The Agent Intelligence Platform team owns the core infrastructure that powers the brain of Quick: memory, knowledge graph, sessions, and the runtime primitives that give the agent persistent context and reasoning capabilities. As the SSDM, you will drive the technical vision for these systems, set the bar for operational excellence, and lead the team in building new experiences that help users achieve more with Quick every day.

This is a leadership opportunity to own the foundational layer of a rapidly growing AI product, shape its architecture, and push the boundaries of what agentic experiences can do for customers.

Key job responsibilities
  • Platform Vision & Strategy: Own the technical roadmap for Quick's memory, knowledge graph, and session infrastructure. Define "best-in-class" and relentlessly pursue it.
  • Research-Driven Innovation: Stay current with advances in memory systems, retrieval, and contextual reasoning. Prototype new approaches and translate research into shipped improvements.
  • Science Partnership: Partner with applied science to co-develop novel algorithms that push the boundaries of agent memory and knowledge retrieval.
  • User-Signal Obsession: Mine user feedback, telemetry, and behavioral data to identify gaps in recall, context quality, and session continuity. Turn signals into a prioritized backlog.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing engineering team with a culture of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and high operational standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain memory, knowledge graph, and session services at the highest bar for reliability, latency, and scalability. Own on-call and incident response.
  • New Experiences: Ship new user-facing capabilities powered by the platform (e.g., richer personalization, proactive context surfacing) that help users achieve more with Quick.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Work across Quick Engineering, product, design, and science to align priorities and drive coherent execution.
About the team

Amazon Quick is an AI-powered work companion that learns and adapts to each user through persistent memory, a personal knowledge graph, and contextual sessions. You'll own the foundational infrastructure behind that intelligence. We're a fast-moving team building technology that redefines how people work with AI every day. We value diverse experiences, inclusive culture, mentorship, and work-life harmony. If your career hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let it stop you from applying.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience hiring, developing and promoting engineering talent
  • Experience with very large distributed systems
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers across multiple workstreams

  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams
