Job Description

The Manager, B2B Fintech Partnerships, Business Development, is responsible for developing and selling meaningful partnership opportunities to grow Visa payment volume in B2B payment flows. Role will be accountable for owning meaningful sales target for commercial issuance solutions. The role is also responsible for providing insights into commercial products and market trends, developing growth strategies and strategic recommendations to help drive profitable growth for both Visa and clients. The B2B Fintech Partnerships team works closely with Visa's core card products and digital solutions as well as other stakeholders such as Finance, Legal, Marketing, etc. teams to execute partnership agreements, and deliverables that are complex, strategic, and cross functional in nature. Our team works closely with internal and external partners, requiring strong collaboration and influencing skills to drive results in a matrix environment. This role reports into the NA Head of Business Development, B2B Fintech Partnerships.

The ideal candidate is in sales and business development who has worked in the commercial payments ecosystem and maintains executive-level relationships with fintechs and partners. This role requires strategic leadership, strong team leadership skills, innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills in a highly matrixed environment. He/she will bring prior experience in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships and solution selling, as well as a deep knowledge of B2B payments and related technology. He/she is creative and hands-on, has a bias towards action and inspires others with his/her vision.

Segment Expertise:

  • Strong interest and engagement in the ongoing growth of B2B payments

  • Continuously review market landscape, identifying and developing partnership or acquisition opportunities that will position Visa as a leader in B2B

  • Support the Visa team in developing the overall B2B fintech strategy

  • Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segments and customer business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms

Business Development:

  • Own B2B partnership efforts with fintechs and issuers, supporting a strong and ongoing pipeline of opportunities

  • Provide best in class service to ensure that prospective clients' business objectives are met and the partners are fully educated on Visa products and opportunities

  • Lead the development, negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and building relationships with strategic partner executives

Execution:

  • Accountable to achieve or exceed sales targets for Commercial issuance solutions in partnership with team lead

  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure partner solutioning is on track and aligned with both Visa's strategy and client goals

  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship, and direction of the business

  • Take the lead in solving the problems that arise during the development of programs with partners, collaborating internally to address

Communication:

  • Educate the organization on market landscape findings and potential partner opportunities

  • Report to and interact with senior management to indicate the status of the partnership progress

  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and within Visa

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership

  • Proven relationship-based sales / business development skills

  • Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship building skills, ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross functional areas to influence and achieve consensus on goals and objectives

  • Proven ability to partner, communicate and navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups

  • Experience presenting to and building relationships with senior management level audiences, both internally and externally

  • Executive presence, strong written and oral communication, including large group presentations

  • A willingness and ability to be flexible and do what is needed across the team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills

  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.

The estimated salary range for this positionis $180,600 to $289,300 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
