REMOTE anywhere in the Midwest or East Coast

Due to continued growth, leading specialty chemical manufacturer has an immediate need for a Market Business Development Manager to continue to drive the growth of designated markets and deliver on financial performance targets. Success will be measured through the development of your business pipeline and the ultimate conversion of opportunities to financial results.

  • Manage the development and conversion to revenue of the new business pipelines for assigned markets.
  • Develops relationships with new and existing customers to identify current and future needs. Translate validated needs into product and application requirements for the technical and manufacturing teams.
  • Support global sales team throughout the customer lifecycle. Negotiate and close agreements with key customers.
  • Identifies tradeshow opportunities and other associated activities to promote customer understanding of product and technology capabilities.
  • Develop customer presentations and participates in customer meetings.
  • Evaluate, assess, and build an understanding of market dynamics and trends for focus markets. Translate market knowledge into actionable commercial and go-to-market strategies.
  • Own and maintain market intelligence for focus markets.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans in collaboration with product management to expand the reach of target markets.
  • Collaborate with commercial and technical teams across the globe.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science
  • Must have 7+ years previous new business or market development experience.
  • Experience in evaluating and assessing markets as well as driving, and closing complex highly technical sales for the pharma sector -i.e. specialty chemicals, reagents, API, etc.
  • Composites, coating, or protective markets are highly desired.
  • A history of success penetrating new accounts and building relationships to fill the pipeline
  • Credible technical skills. Ability to engage with and sell into a technical audience - i.e. engineers, R&D, etc.
  • Travel up to 25%

The role provides a base plus incentive compensation.
