The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a multi-billion-dollar aerospace and defense manufacturing organization to spearhead the search for a strategic Business Development Manager. Operating within a high-performing $500M division, this newly established leadership role is designed to accelerate market expansion across both established accounts and adjacent sectors. Functioning as a fully remote opportunity with periodic travel to the Phoenix, Arizona headquarters and key client locations, this position offers an exceptional platform to drive revenue, shape value propositions, and champion long-term commercial growth within a dynamic, low-turnover environment.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Drive aggressive market growth and capture profitable sales volume across designated defense and aerospace accounts.

  • Architect tailored capture plans for high-value defense programs, specialized components, and strategic tier-one partners.

  • Champion customer relationship management by conducting executive-level sales presentations and facilitating regular joint account reviews.

  • Synthesize market intelligence, platform production rates, and emerging industry trends to identify untapped commercial avenues.

  • Lead contract reviews, proposal execution, and post-submission customer follow-ups to maximize win rates on competitive bids.

  • Formulate accurate sales forecasts, opportunity tracking frameworks, and data-driven pipeline models.

  • Partner with internal business units to align customer-centric strategies, streamline account forecasting, and resolve complex client inquiries.

  • Execute analytical sales workflows, including data mining, financial spreadsheet modeling, and account database maintenance.

  • Promote operational excellence by engaging in continuous improvement initiatives, trade compliance, safety protocols, and change management.

What You Bring
  • Demonstrated Expertise: At least 8 years of successful sales experience handling precision-machined products within the aerospace and defense sectors.

  • Technical & Tool Proficiency: Deep familiarity with essential corporate technology, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

  • Methodologies & Core Competencies: Advanced proficiency in Business Development Programs, Sales & Marketing, Sales Leads, Program Management, Contract Administration, Customer Relationship Management, Data Mining, Spreadsheet Modeling, Continuous Improvement, and 6S Methodologies.

  • Education: A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred (Associate degree/Graduate diploma with relevant track record considered).

  • Execution & Leadership: Proven capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines, lead client negotiations, and solve complex commercial challenges independently.

  • Work Authorization & Travel: Capability to work fully remote within the United States while traveling as needed to client sites and the Phoenix, AZ headquarters.

Compensation & Total Rewards
  • Base Salary Range: $170,000 โ€“ $190,000 annually

  • Incentive Compensation: 15% target annual bonus
