The Opportunity

The Power & Energy Solutions (PES) Business Development team is seeking a Business Development Representative / Manager who will be a key member of the team responsible for originating and advancing nonregulated growth opportunities across the PES portfolio, including power generation, energy storage, and lowcarbon initiatives.

This role requires the skills, judgment, and commercial acumen to originate, evaluate, and progress capital investment opportunities that align with PES strategic priorities and enterprise objectives. The position offers regular interaction with senior leadership, engagement with external partners and counterparties, and the opportunity to influence investment and commercial decisions.

What you'll do

  • Originate, develop, and implement business development strategies aligned with PES growth priorities
  • Identify and screen potential business development opportunities, partnerships, and commercial structures
  • Support (Representative) or lead (Manager) negotiations and preparation of commercial agreements with customers, partners, and counterparties
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary, crossfunctional teams including Strategy, Finance, Engineering, Legal, Commercial Marketing, Operations, and Environmental to define opportunity scope, assess risks, and develop cost and value estimates
  • Develop and present business cases and investment opportunities for management approval through PES governance and capital allocation processes
  • Conduct and participate in the negotiation of commercial transactions and support drafting of definitive agreements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders
  • Maintain strong internal stakeholder engagement through effective communication and collaboration

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years experience in business development, commercial strategy, investment analysis, or related roles within energy, infrastructure, or capitalintensive industries
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate technical, financial, contractual, and commercial aspects of investment opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
  • Selfmotivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, "oneteam" environment
  • Progressive experience leading or coleading business development opportunities or transactions
  • Experience engaging directly with external partners and supporting or leading negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crossfunctional teams and advance opportunities through governed decisionmaking processes
