Job Description

Are you a results-driven business developer who thrives on building relationships and uncovering new opportunities? In this role, you will spearhead the growth of our Discovery Services portfolio within an assigned territory, driving revenue and expanding our impact across the the drug discovery industry.

Here, you will partner with scientific and commercial teams to achieve sales goals by strengthening existing client relationships, identifying unmet needs, and converting opportunities into strategic, high-value partnerships. You will also lead proactive business development efforts, engaging new prospects and opening doors to exciting opportunities that showcase the full breadth of Eurofins Discovery Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact, collaborate with industry-leading experts, and play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of a global leader in scientific services.

Here's what you'll do: 

  • Maintain responsibility for sales of Eurofins Discovery services meeting sales and revenue growth targets for specified territory
  • Develop and maintain high level client relationships through regular face to face meetings
  • Provide recommendations and feedback for business development and operational strategy
  • Work with members of the sales team and operations to drive business.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and application competence and utilize this knowledge to drive business. Promote and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback and analysis to operations to improve/adjust/expand marketing strategies.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% outside of the assigned territory
  • Use a CRM to log client meetings, significant calls as well as for the tracking of all opportunities.
  • Input leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities into the company CRM and maintain the accuracy of these records to timeframes as directed by sales management
  • Create and update key account plans in the company CRM for use in creating and presenting to Eurofins Discovery leadership on a quarterly basis
  • Complete expense reports per policy
  • Provide monthly forecast of business, by the due date specified, utilizing tools defined by sales management
Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • A minimum education of a B.S. in Pharmacology, Biology or similar Life Science degree with demonstrated experience in selling drug discovery services.  Consideration will also be given to a pharmacologist with business credentials (MBA)  
  • Excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug discovery process.
  • Understanding of or prior experience in the pharmaceutical market and proven ability to analyze and act on the global business trends to drive regional business development activities. Provide strategic feedback to sales leadership and operations teams.
  • Capable of discussing scientific services and research applications with pharmaceutical and biotech researchers. Able to translate technical capabilities into customer solutions.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Experience growing existing accounts and expanding business relationships.
  • Ability to prospect and generate new business opportunities within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.
  • Experience developing and executing territory growth strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Existing relationships within the Boston/Cambridge biotech and pharmaceutical ecosystem would likely be highly valued.
  • Exceptional business development, organization, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Has a valid Driver's license
  • Located near major airport and ability to travel up to 20% time in support of driving business to meet revenue objectives.
  • Ability to do occasional international travel
  • Ability to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
