Metrocare is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of AAC consultants. This position . This position offers a total compensation range (base salary and commission) of $70,000+ based on monthly units sold.
Position Overview
Metrocare is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist tor experienced AAC Consultant to join our team. This role is responsible for driving referrals, evaluations, and placements of Speech Generating Devices (SGDs) through direct engagement with referral sources, patients, and interdisciplinary care teams.
This is a highly field-driven position, requiring 5 days per week in the field calling on referral sources, conducting evaluations, and supporting patient care. Administrative responsibilities, including WIP (Work-in-Progress) management, documentation, and follow-up, are expected to be completed during early mornings, late afternoons, or as needed to maintain workflow efficiency.
Compensation
• Base Salary: $70,000 annually
• Commission: Uncapped earning potential based on units placed
• Top Earners: Top performers in this role have earned $150,000+ in total annual compensation
• Commission Structure: Paid monthly based on units placed with no cap

  1. Territory
    • This role covers the state of Texas with a strong focus on building referral network with rehab hospitals. The territory includes a diverse mix of referral sources such as:
      • Hospital-based rehabilitation centers
      • Outpatient therapy clinics
      • School systems
      • Specialty physician practices
      • Community-based healthcare providers
      Candidates should be based within the territory and comfortable with daily local travel and in-field engagement.
      Job Purpose
      The primary function is to achieve and exceed sales and placement goals for AAC devices through:
      • Marketing, in-services, and education
      • Clinical evaluations and device recommendations
      • Relationship development with referral sources
      • Ongoing patient and caregiver support
      All responsibilities must be performed in compliance with company policies, accreditation standards, and HIPAA regulations.
      General Expectations

      3. Maintain current knowledge of AAC products, software, and payer guidelines

      Key Responsibilities
      Territory & Field Activity
      • Maintain a full-time field presence (5 days per week) within assigned territory
      • Conduct daily in-person visits with referral sources and patients
      • No designated office day; administrative work is to be managed around field responsibilities
      Sales & Clinical Responsibilities
      • Conduct AAC evaluations and recommend appropriate speech-generating devices
      • Perform product demonstrations, in-services, and clinical education
      • Coordinate delivery, setup, and training of devices
      • Follow up with patients and caregivers to ensure successful use of equipment
      • Promote products and services through ongoing, in-person engagement
      Pipeline & WIP Management
      • Own and manage all Work-In-Progress (WIP) cases from referral through delivery
      • Ensure timely progression of:
      o Referrals → Evaluations → Orders → Delivery
      • Complete all required documentation, reporting, and follow-ups promptly
      • Maintain accurate records in CRM and company systems (Brightree/SharePoint)
      • Proactively resolve any delays or barriers in the process
      Referral Development & Account Management
      • • Build and maintain strong relationships with all referral sources
      • Maintain consistent contact cadence (at minimum monthly in-person visits)
      • Call points include, but are not limited to:
      o Speech Therapy Clinics
      o School Systems
      o Rehabilitation Facilities and Hospitals
      o Home Health Agencies
      o Private Duty Nursing Agencies
      o University SLP Programs
      o Advocacy Groups and Associations
      • Be available and responsive to referral sources as needed
    • Productivity Expectations
      • Maintain 25-30 in-person visits per week
      • Meet or exceed all monthly and quarterly sales goals
      • Maintain a steady and proactive pipeline of new referrals

Experience & Qualifications
Required:

• MS, CCC-SLP (preferred) or SLP-A considered
• Experience with AAC devices and software
• Strong clinical foundation with ability to perform patient evaluations
Preferred:
• Combination of clinical experience and sales aptitude
• Experience managing a territory or working independently
Additional Qualifications:
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and desire to succeed
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to present to individuals and groups
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related systems
• Knowledge of Apple, AAC software, and related technology preferred
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Positive attitude and ability to influence others
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods and must be able to talk and hear effectively. Occasional bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and transporting equipment may be required. Vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.
