We are hiring am Admin Director to manage our offices in North Carolina. The Admin Director will train and manage a team of local canvassers to contact voters with Planned Parenthood Votes South Atlantic. They will work within the director team to build an office to scale from the ground up.
Administrative Directors are Deputy Directors, and they report directly to the offices Lead Directors. The Lead Director position reports to the Project Director and the Deputy Director position reports to the Lead Director. Deputy Directors are still expected to help train new hires in the field as well as canvass at least 6 hours a week.

When people can make decisions about their own reproductive health care, they have more control over their economic security, their health and well-being, and can build the future they see for themselves. Politicians have no business interfering with private health care decisions. We're fighting to stop this government intrusion and put the power back in the hands of the people.
Locations:
Raleigh, NC with preference for local candidates
Timeline: Start August 11th through Election Day
Administrative Director Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 40-60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about reproductive rights
  • Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals
  • Coordinate with the Project's Senior Payroll Coordinator to ensure all canvasser hours, bonuses, and payroll information are accurate and submitted on schedule every other Saturday; distribute daily pay sheets each evening so canvassers are informed of their reported hours and expected pay, while collaborating with support teams as needed to resolve payroll and administrative issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, facilitating onboarding, conducting mileage reimbursement training, maintaining orientation attendance records, and reviewing I-9 documentation to ensure compliance with employment eligibility requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong computer proficiency with the ability to efficiently manage and maintain multiple spreadsheets, ensuring accurate data entry, organization, and reporting.
  • Set goals and hold staff accountable to them
  • Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
  • Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
  • Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations
  • Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials

Qualifications:
Must have
  • Leadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
  • Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
  • Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
  • Track record of equity and inclusion
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends (10:30am - 8:30pm)

Nice-to-have
  • Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
  • Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
  • Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities

Salary:
The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,500 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.
