Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and execution of QA/QC programs across cultivation, post-harvest, extraction, and packaging operations at our Pleasantville, NJ facility. This role leads site-level quality initiatives, oversees third-party lab testing coordination, ensures compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations, and champions audit readiness. Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Quality Supervisor plays a key role in continuous improvement and product quality consistency, acting as the facility's primary quality lead.


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main QA/QC point of contact across all site departments: cultivation, post-harvest, extraction, and packaging.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of quality inspections, sanitation audits, and sampling programs

  • Oversee third-party lab testing logistics: documentation, submissions, tracking, and results review

  • Conduct root cause investigations using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis

  • Document and track CAPAs; ensure timely and effective resolution

  • Monitor environmental and production data for trends and quality risks

  • Maintain QA/QC documentation: SOPs, batch records, sanitation logs, inspection checklists

  • Audit departmental records and escalate compliance gaps

  • Lead quality training for new hires and ongoing staff education on SOPs and GMPs

  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce deviations and improve first-pass quality

  • Represent the QA team during internal, third-party, and regulatory inspections

  • Track and respond to audit findings, ensuring corrective action follow-through

  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready documentation and workspaces


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications a plus

  • 3+ years of experience in QA/QC or compliance within a regulated manufacturing or cannabis environment

  • Proven ability to manage quality programs and cross-functional accountability

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems

  • Excellent planning, documentation, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality-related tracking systems


Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance

  • Ability to bend, lift, squat, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods

  • Must be comfortable working in environments that include exposure to dirt, dust, allergens, high/low temperatures, noise, odors, and vibrations

  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to use tools and equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and general hardware tools

  • Extended use of computers and digital documentation platforms
