Semmes Murphey Clinic's mission is to deliver the best care for people suffering from neurological illnesses while advancing the field of neuroscience.
The Surgery Center Registered Nurse's primary responsibility is to assist physicians during surgical procedures, and supervise and direct patient care before, during and after surgical procedures.
The typical hours for the early shift in this position is 6:00am-3:00pm and the late shift is 10:00am-6:00pm. Accepting full-time, part-time, or PRN.
We are a single specialty ASC with flexibility of staffing, NO call, NO holidays and NO regularly scheduled weekends.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients
  • Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Associates Degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • One (1) year of experience
  • Active RN license in appropriate state(s)
  • CPR certification
Preferred:
  • ACLS certification
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center experience
