Overview

The position is responsible for meeting or exceeding the sales revenue goal assigned to the position. Handles and books groups of ten rooms or more with and without meals. The position is key to achieving the overall success of the Hotel

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for handling groups of ten rooms or more with and without meeting space. Handles all inquiries, quotes group pricing, Gives clear and concise information to the caller.
  • Enters accounts and contacts into Opera System, blocks meeting or event space.
  • Generates contracts and submits to the client. Maintains current data on accounts and contacts. Responds to RFPโ€™s within 24-48 hours.
  • Makes outside sales calls to new and existing clients to secure new client/business and to service existing clients Entertains clients inside and outside of the Hotel.
  • Conducts site tours for the client to close more business. Meets or exceeds the individual sales goal.
  • Makes solicitation calls to existing clients and researches the internet to secure new clients and meetings. Calls past clients to book repeat business.
  • Makes sales calls to outside clients to solicit new business and to service existing accounts.
  • Represents the Hotel and Six Flags in a professional and ethical manner. Attended any trade shows assigned to the position.
  • Prepares month production reports and submits to the DOS for approval. Participates in the daily Revenue Meeting with the DOS and the Revenue Manager.
  • Gives input on pricing strategy. Interacts with the catering team when preparing group menus and detailing group functions. Welcomes group leaders/organizers at Hotel check in
  • Prepares the group resumes for all incoming groups. Distributes the paperwork to department heads. Collates the groups information regarding meals times and menus, arrival and departures times. Communicates the information on the resumes.
  • Prepares monthly production reports and submits to the DOS for approval. Participates in the daily Revenue Meeting with the Dos and Revenue Manager
  • Generates invoices and collects payment for groups. Arranges direct billing if requested by the client. Good decision making when analyzing a piece of business. Maintain good communication with the DOC and other departments.
Qualifications Education

Associates degree / vocational or technical school in Hotel/Tourism or Business

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business

Experience

2-4 years experience in Hotel Manager Sales

Qualifications
  • Responsibilities are to reach or exceed the revenue goal.
  • Oversees about 1 million in revenue in group room bookings.
  • Requires a self- starter with previous Hotel sales experience that is a leader.
  • Obtains advanced knowledge of the SMERF market is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with proper English and grammar usage.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
