Securemedy Incorporated is seeking experienced Full-Time Campus Safety Officers (Unarmed SPOs) to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidates are professional, dependable, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment while providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

We are seeking professionals who demonstrate excellent customer service, professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to serving the school community.
We offer competitive pay, paid training, comprehensive benefits including free healthcare, and a consistent full-time schedule. Officers are scheduled for approximately 32 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available as needed.Pay: $23/hr.
Position Overview
As a Campus Safety Officer, you will serve as a visible ambassador for safety while fostering positive relationships across the campus community. This role combines campus security, customer service, emergency response, and safety preparedness to support a secure learning environment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to professionally de-escalate situations. This position requires standing and walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive campus environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors.
  • Monitor entrances, manage visitor access, and support access control procedures.
  • Conduct routine patrols to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Support student arrival, dismissal, events, and daily campus operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, medical incidents, and safety concerns.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts professionally.
  • Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and emergency responders.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and documentation.
  • Provide coverage across multiple campus locations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Active DC Special Police Officer (SPO) License required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods (8-12 hours)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Prior security, campus safety, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred
  • School security or educational environment experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and visitors
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and respect for diverse populations
  • Must successfully complete a drug screening and physical examination
  • Availability to work full-time Wednesday through Sunday, including day, evening, and overnight shifts
