About Hook:
Hook is a social music app, which allows its users to interact with music via a variety of artist-made remixes. To keep users engaged, Hook needs a steady flow of new sounds that users can play with. The music expressions intern will work directly with producers and engineers on the Hook team to ensure this steady stream. This intern will be responsible for working with producers to translate musical ideas into remixes. They will also contribute to testing and development of tools to automatically perform this translation. Finally, they will ensure that user experiences expressing themselves through music are seamless.

About the Role:

As a Viral Content Marketing Intern, you’ll help identify and implement viral trends, creator strategies, and content formats that can power music campaigns, artist activations, and Hook’s social growth.

You’ll spend your time researching what’s working online, identifying creators and communities, helping execute campaigns, and spotting opportunities before they become mainstream.

Responsibilities:

Trend Research & Viral Strategy

  • Research emerging trends across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

  • Identify viral content formats, memes, editing styles, sounds, hooks, and storytelling frameworks

  • Monitor platform behavior and surface ideas that could be adapted for artist and music campaigns

  • Provide weekly recommendations on trend opportunities for active releases and catalog campaigns

Creator Discovery & Outreach

  • Research creators, fan pages, niche communities, and tastemakers relevant to music campaigns

  • Identify creators who would be strong fits for Hook campaigns or platform adoption

  • Build creator target lists organized by genre, audience, culture, and platform

Social Media Execution

  • Assist with posting and managing content across Hook's secondary social accounts

  • Help implement trend-led content ideas across TikTok, Instagram, and Shorts

  • Test formats, captions, posting styles, and content angles to drive engagement

  • Help clip, repurpose, and publish content optimized for short-form platforms

Music Marketing & Campaign Support

  • Translate internet trends into ideas for artist and song campaigns

  • Brainstorm culturally relevant activations around releases, moments, and viral opportunities

  • Support campaign execution with creator sourcing, research, and trend implementation

  • Track campaign performance and identify learnings for future activations
