Job description

Camp Kabeyun is hiring kitchen support staff this summer!

Kabeyun kitchen staff members play an essential role at our camp. As a member of the kitchen staff team, you are responsible for helping wash pots, pans, and dishes and the dining hall after meals to ensure that campers remain healthy. In addition, kitchen staff members help stock the shelves, especially on delivery days, and clean the dining hall.

Kitchen staff also share responsibility for helping to prepare all meals for campers and staff, under the direct supervision of our chef team.

All camp staff are responsible for creating a supportive, safe, and fun environment for campers and working as a team with the greater camp community.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kitchen staff will coordinate all aspects of the camp’s kitchen and dining hall, including food preparation, service, and general cleaning. Candidates must be able to lift, unload and organize food and supplies; lift dishes to their storage location; use kitchen equipment safely, and operate the dishwasher.

  • Experience working as part of a team in a kitchen/food service setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to help to prepare meals, set tables, and clean afterward.
  • Willingness to be adaptable to changing settings and work under the direction of our head camp chefs.
  • Available June 17 through August 20, with potential to extend through Labor Day.
