Reports To: Program Coordinator, Parks & RecreationPosition Summary

Summer Day Camp Crew members support staff with daily activities & assist with upkeep of materials and facilities. Summer Day Camp Crew Members help execute the mission and vision of Hempfield Township and Summer Day Camp.

The Department of Parks & Recreation is focused on providing essential community, recreation, and leisure services to the residents of Hempfield Township. Camp provides families in Hempfield Township and surrounding communities safe and affordable summer enrichment experiences while embodying the values of safety, enrichment and exploration, community awareness, social and personal identity development, and entertainment and fun.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow the policies and procedures set forth in your staff manual relating to safety and human relations
  • Assist with daily operational tasks
  • Prepare camp lunch and snack
  • Prepare daily activities
  • Inventory supplies
  • Help with facilities needs
  • Interact with children
  • Assess hazards to ensure child safety
