Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AK licensure and AWHONN/NRP certifications on a variable day/night shift schedule.

Details
  • Labor and Delivery unit position
  • Variable 3x12 schedule with a minimum week-long stretch between day and night shifts, consisting of 50-70% night shifts
  • Equitable weekend rotation required per schedule period
  • Floating required 0-3 times per month, limited to helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type duties within OB
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Royal blue scrubs required
Requirements
  • Active AK RN license required, pending license accepted
  • 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; LDRP experience preferred
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • EFM competency required via Intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis
  • Charting system experience required (any system)
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
  • Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
  • Experience with neonatal care in delivery room including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
  • Experience with antepartum care including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
  • Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
  • Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor
  • SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including patients and families
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs and document accordingly
  • Direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education and competence
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital policy development
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
  • Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if AK license is still pending
