Cam Assistant information

What is a CAM assistant?

A CAM Assistant, or Community Association Manager Assistant, provides administrative and operational support to community association managers overseeing residential or commercial properties. Their responsibilities often include coordinating meetings, maintaining records, assisting with communications between property owners and management, and helping to enforce association rules. CAM Assistants play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of homeowners’ or condominium associations. They may also handle tasks such as processing payments, preparing reports, and responding to resident inquiries.

What does a typical workday look like for a CAM assistant, and how do they interact with property management teams?

As a CAM (Community Association Management) Assistant, your daily responsibilities often include supporting property managers by coordinating maintenance requests, communicating with residents, organizing documentation, and assisting with meeting preparation. You’ll frequently collaborate with property management teams to ensure smooth operations within homeowners or condominium associations. This role requires strong organizational skills and effective communication, as you’ll be the bridge between residents, vendors, and management. Over time, CAM Assistants can advance to higher-level management positions as they gain experience and industry certifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CAM assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) Assistant, you need a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawing interpretation, and basic computer skills, often supported by a diploma or certificate in manufacturing or engineering technology. Familiarity with CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidCAM, and knowledge of CNC machinery are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong organizational skills help CAM Assistants excel in supporting workflow and minimizing errors. These skills ensure efficient production operations, accurate part fabrication, and effective collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Cam Assistants typically support camera teams by handling equipment and setup, requiring basic technical skills. Camera Operators are responsible for capturing footage directly, often needing advanced skills and experience. While both roles work closely in production environments, the Cam Assistant focuses on support tasks, whereas the Camera Operator manages the actual filming process.

Senior Financial Analyst - Operations & Supply Chain
Position Summary
Carlisle Architectural Metals (CAM) is seeking a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst to support our Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted finance partner within a growing manufacturing business while helping drive CAM's One CAM transformation.
Reporting to the Operations FP&A Manager, you will work closely with operations and supply chain leaders to provide insights that influence decision-making, improve financial performance, and support achievement of business objectives. You will play a key role in forecasting, planning, operational analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.
This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business, solving complex problems, leveraging data and analytics, and building a career in manufacturing finance. We're looking for someone who is curious, adaptable, and eager to take on increasing responsibility over time.
What You'll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP), forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Partner with finance and business leaders to develop, consolidate, and validate budgets across multiple plants and functions.
  • Analyze plant-level financial performance, including labor, overhead, productivity, and cost trends.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations compared to plan, forecast, and prior-year results.
  • Translate financial results into operational insights and actions that improve business performance.

Business Partnership
  • Serve as a finance business partner to plant managers, operations leaders, and supply chain teams.
  • Help leaders understand performance drivers and identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, and working capital.
  • Analyze key operational metrics including labor efficiency, throughput, inventory, freight, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Validate and measure cost-savings initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support evaluation of capital investments and ROI opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders to drive accountability and informed decision-making.

Reporting & Data Analytics
  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards that provide meaningful, actionable business insights.
  • Create reporting and analysis that support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Standardize reporting across business units, manufacturing sites, and ERP systems.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis.
  • Improve visibility into spending, budget performance, and key business metrics.

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
  • Support CAM's four-day financial close process through analysis of operational and manufacturing data.
  • Prepare schedules and analyses supporting manufacturing and operational accounting activities.
  • Assist with operational journal entries related to labor, inventory, scrap, absorption, and manufacturing variances.
  • Support account reconciliations, compliance processes, and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate close activities.

Process Improvement & Transformation
  • Leverage SAP, Power BI, and other systems to improve reporting, analytics, and decision support.
  • Support CAM's One CAM transformation and business integration initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and data consistency.
  • Partner cross-functionally to strengthen data integrity and reporting capabilities.
  • Support standardization efforts across multiple ERP systems and manufacturing locations.

What Will Make You Successful
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial results to operational performance.
  • Curiosity and willingness to dig into issues to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Ability to influence decisions through data, analysis, and strong communication.
  • Comfort working directly with plant, operations, and supply chain leaders.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in balancing recurring responsibilities with changing business priorities.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • A proactive mindset and desire to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, operations finance, plant finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, or supply chain organizations.
  • Experience working in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, manufacturing cost structures, working capital, and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience supporting business transformation, continuous improvement, or integration initiatives.

Why Join CAM?
This is more than a traditional financial analyst role. You'll have direct exposure to Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership while helping shape the financial performance of a growing manufacturing organization.
In this role, you'll:
  • Partner directly with business leaders on meaningful operational and financial decisions.
  • Gain hands-on experience with SAP, Power BI, and emerging analytics technologies.
  • Contribute to CAM's One CAM transformation and integration initiatives.
  • Develop expertise in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain finance.
  • Build visibility with senior leaders across the organization.
  • Work in an environment that offers growth opportunities and increasing responsibility over time.
