Lockheed Martin is seeking Project Engineer/Control Account Manager (CAM) to join the SDA Portfolio supporting the SDA Systems Engineering team. SDA CAM Duties include leading, planning, budgeting, and managing the technical/schedule/cost performance for the Systems Engineering team. The SDA CAM will sit at the intersection of engineering execution and program management - helping our Chief Systems Engineers (CSEs) maintain real-time visibility into headcount, schedule, and cost performance across multiple programs. This role requires precision, clear communication, and a continuous improvement mindset.
The Project Engineer will interact with a multi-disciplinary engineering team through development and production phases. The preferred candidate should have prior experience with cost, schedule, and technical management of systems with a significant budget. • Identify risks and opportunities and implement approved actions
• Manage resources, analyze trends, and develop analytics to ensure credible schedules and Estimates at Complete (EACs)
• Identify and manage control accounts' schedule health and critical path
• Analyze and report variances and proactively implement corrective actions
• Ensure all EVM required documentation is complete and meets compliance requirements for responsible control accounts
• Ensure current CAM certification and training is always maintained
What Success Looks Like:
• CSEs have real-time visibility into headcount, schedule, and cost status without having to chase data
• Variance reports delivered accurately, on time, with clear root cause and corrective action narratives
• IMS reflects current program reality and is actively used for decision-making
• Resource conflicts and schedule risks surface early - not at milestone reviews
• CAM processes are consistent, documented, and continuously improving
To promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin cultivates an inclusive work environment that inspires differences and big-picture thinking.
Basic Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience leading organizational and project implementations while managing schedules, budgets, and cost constraints.

• Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project, Open Plan)
• Experience with earned value management principles and variance analysis
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex systems development environments
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with advanced Excel skills
Desired skills
• Attention to detail - produces accurate, traceable deliverables with consistency across complex data sets
• Business acumen - understands program financials, contract constraints, and resource trade-offs
• Effective communication - translates complex CAM data into clear, actionable narrative for SE leadership
• Innovative thinking - seeks smarter ways to track, report, and improve execution processes
• Experience with systems engineering domain of work and work products
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills
• Experience supporting multi-program environments
• Risk and Opportunity Management experience
• Demonstrated project management experience and problem-solving skills
• Experience driving continuous improvement and common process across diverse stakeholder groups
• Ability to develop solutions to problems which require the use of ingenuity and innovation
