Be a Guardian of the Zoo!

The Palm Beach Zoo is looking for a dedicated and observant Zoo Ranger to join our Safety and Security team for a full time evening/overnight shift. In this important role, you'll help protect our animals, guests, and staff by ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment-day and night. This is more than a security job-it's an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization working to protect wildlife and inspire action.

What You'll Do:

  • Patrol zoo grounds and facilities to monitor guest conduct, property safety, and animal area security.
  • Respond to incidents, accidents, and medical situations with calm professionalism.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and manage detailed safety reports.
  • Assist with access control and monitor restricted areas overnight.
  • Check animal enclosures for potential safety issues (without entering staff-only animal care areas).
  • Participate in storm assessments and zoo emergency response procedures.
  • Support after-hours events, contractors, and special projects.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist with crowd or traffic control during peak hours
