Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Profession: RN

Specialty: Labor and Delivery

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour Nights

Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years

License: Required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP

Must-Have: Experience with circulating and/or scrubbing in OR for cesarean sections

Description: Auto offer based on prescreen recommendation. No OR license needed at time of submission. 90 Day Emergency License can be requested upon offer. L&D/PP/MB license required; can submit with license pending. Unit has 9 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 2 triage beds, and 4 postpartum beds. Approximately 850-900 births per year. Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and Labetalol. Charge Nurse and House Supervisor roles present. OB Techs available on the unit. Neonatologist not in-house 24/7. Two vents, two Bubble CPAP units available. Telemetry is available; RNs read strips in OB. Monitor techs present for continuous monitoring if required. EFM System is GE Centricity. Shifts are 12-hour, both AM and PM. Yearly core schedules in place. Weekend requirement is every other weekend or one weekend based on seniority. Holiday requirements follow contract stipulations. Two 12-hour call shifts every four weeks required. Closed unit unless emergency measures are in place. Scrubs are provided; color is purple. Unit and department-specific orientation will be completed for all new and incoming employees.
