Position: Field Service Calibration Technician
About the Role
Well established calibration service organization is seeking a Field Service Calibration Technician for a full-time position based out of our lab in Tempe, AZ. The candidate will be responsible for providing calibration services in the lab as well as managing the calibration services at customer sites.
The candidate will work independently overseeing and managing the customer's calibration needs. The candidate will be responsible for calibrating the customer's assets as well as scheduling/sending out items the lab lacks capabilities for. A successful candidate should be a self-starter, have attention to detail, possess good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as have computer competency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide calibration services, which can include measurement, electrical, temperature, torque, and/or pressure, etc.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
  • Maintain calibration standard
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting
  • Schedule/send out items for calibration and/or repair
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education And Experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in at least one calibration discipline: dimensional, torque, pressure and/or electrical calibration including:
    • Micrometers, weights/scales, pressure, gauges and torque
    • AC/DC Low Voltage (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, voltage calibrators, etc)
    • Torque (torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, etc)
    • Temperature & Humidity devices (data loggers, hygrometer, environmental chambers, ovens)
    • High Voltage Generating and Measuring equipment (Hipot tester, Meggers, Insulation testers)
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) or Associates degree, technical certification, or military equivalent in electronics, metrology, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% monthly to out of state customer sites
  • Strong understanding of testing, measurement, and metrology principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and calibration procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license for occasional field service work.
  • Position would require driving as well as flying to job sites on occasion.
  • Candidate shall be able to work 40 plus hours per week to meet customer demands and ATS schedule; Overtime and occasional weekend work required.
  • Candidate shall be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Clean driving record, drug screen and background check required
