Job description

Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI), the Aviation Logistics Support Contractor for the CAL FIRE Aviation Management Unit (AMU), has an immediate opening for a Aviation Parts Room/Warehouse Associate.
Overview: The Aviation Warehouse Associate assists in the general upkeep of an aircraft maintenance and repair facility. Under the direction of the Logistics Support Manager, Senior Inventory Supervisor, and the Department Lead, this position supports inventory management, maintenance, and logistical operations to ensure smooth and efficient facility management.
These positions assist the Lead position by performing the following tasks:
  • Receipt, storage, inventory, and transfer of tooling or equipment.
  • Digitally track all parts within CalFire Aviation Program computerized database.
  • Operation of handling equipment as necessary.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, freight cars, or other common carriers and transporting material to specified areas.
  • Assist as needed in the receiving, unpacking, and checking of incoming tooling or equipment in accordance with CalFire Aviation Program/LSI Shipping & Receiving Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Pack, tag, and move material to designated locations.
  • Stock and restock Warehouse bulk inventory.
  • Assist with preparing material for transfers and fills.
  • Assist with issuing parts and tools to mechanics as needed.
  • Operate motor vehicles.
  • Follow parts management procedures as outlined in the CAL FIRE Repair Station/Quality Control Manual No. CFOR047Z that is hereby incorporated by reference and made a part of this agreement, as if attached hereto.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Comply with CAL FIRE/LSI approved work attire
  • Adherence to CAL FIRE's Information Technology (IT) Acceptable-Use Policy
  • Responsible for safeguarding all CAL FIRE and LSI property and equipment provided. Ensure that all governmental facilities, property and materials are left secured.
  • Adhere to CAL FIRE's Installation Security Program

Required Experience, Skills and Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
  • One (1) year of warehouse experience in the following: handling, packing, and shipping of stock and inventory.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other types of material handling equipment.
  • Ability to take inventories and maintain inventory records.
  • Possess basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to accurately input information into a computerized database.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Successfully pass a drug and background checks.
