Job description

Responsible for the efficient and proper set-up of the staff cafeteria. Perform set-up and break-down of the cafeteria room in a manner that ensures neatness and accuracy. 

Maintaining the area clean and organized during the shift ensuing the cafeteria equipment is working properly

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential: 

  • Able to work on your feet during the 8 hr shift.
  • Ability to communicate at a basic level in the English Language.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with other associates and departments as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Ability to focus attention to details.
  • Valid CA Food Handlers Card
  • Experience working without direct supervision.
  • Basic understanding of chemical usage.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Positive, friendly demeanor.

Desirable:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or sanitation related position.
  • Previous experience with guest or customer relations.
  • Intermediate or advanced understanding of chemical usage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Set-up and breakdown cafeteria room
  • Assist to organize and put away cafeteria requisitions
  • Maintain a neat, clean and organized work environment.  
  • Provide friendly and professional service.
  • Clean up and set up food service equipment; e.i soft serve ice cream, coffee dispenser, soda machine
  • Maintain small ware clean and stock during the shift; silverware, trays, plates, bowls
  • Take trash out keeping area clean
  • Pushing carts with soiled small ware to designated dishwashing stations
  • Assist dishwashing station with cleaning of cafeteria equipment
  • Operate the dishwashing machine including turning on and off, de-liming, changing water and adding chemicals when necessary
  • Mop and sweep as needed during the shift and at the end
  • Assist on the food line to avoid backups and expedite meal breaks
