Job description

The Caddie Manager's primary responsibility is the recruitment, training, and supervision of the Charlotte Country Club caddies.This position will play a vital role in the success of the caddie program.This position will work closely with the Outside Service Manager.The caddie program will offer the members of Charlotte Country Club the unique opportunity to indulge in the traditions of the game through personal and intimate levels of service. They will lead by example, anticipating member, guest, and caddie needs throughout the property.The Caddie Manager will posses strong interpersonal skills in order to handle the demands of the caddie program as well as the ability to offer unparalleled service to the membership.


General Functions:

  • Manages the entire Caddie program for the club by understanding Charlotte Country Club's rules and regulations and also the Golf Operations policies and procedures.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates caddies.
  • Responsible for ensuring there are a sufficient amount of caddies available to accommodate all member and guest demands.
  • Works collaboratively with all departments and staff to provide an exceptional golf experience.
  • Build community by spreading hospitality and goodwill among all members, guests, and fellow staff.
  • Works with the Golf Professionals and Club Managers to determine the number of caddies needed for special high demand events, (i.e. Club tournaments and Monday golf outings for outside groups)
  • Engages the membership and creates a welcoming, friendly environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Caddie Program:

  • Ensure all caddies adhere to proper policies and procedures.
  • Manage caddie software on Club Up and on Foretees.
  • Monitor caddie classification, ensuring we have proper levels of caddie and caddies are classified to appropriate levels of "Premier", "Standard", and "Training".
  • Ensure all caddies arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their tee time, dressed with proper attire to include proper bib, white shirt, khaki pants/shorts.
  • Staff the bag drop daily to provide a positive first and last impression with members and guests.
  • Work hand - in - hand with the Outside Operations team at the range podium, bag drop, and bag room.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License. If driving company vehicles, must maintain acceptable driving record.
  • A team spirit and positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to lead and manage conflict.
  • Computer and customer service skills.
  • The qualified candidate must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, and caring with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Maintain good knowledge of golf and caddie programs.
  • Confidence is important.Must never shy away from Member contact or seeking new Member business.


Education/Experience:

  • High School Education or GED equivalent required.
  • Two years experience as a Golf Supervisor preferred.
  • Five years experience as a caddie or caddie manager required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., sitting, standing and walking frequently.
  • Ability to bend, reach and lift frequently.
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
