Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist - Fabrication & Cables is responsible for executing and managing the sourcing and procurement activities for fabrication materials and cable products. This role ensures all materials and services are acquired at the best value while meeting quality, schedule, and compliance requirements. The Specialist collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support operational needs and contribute to overall supply chain performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct market research to identify and qualify suppliers for fabrication and cable materials.
  • Assess supplier capabilities, quality, reliability, and performance to establish and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contract agreements to achieve cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and delivery expectations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and delivery schedules.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand technical specifications and ensure materials meet requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks related to quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, market conditions, and regulatory changes relevant to fabrication and cable procurement.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on sourcing activity, supplier performance, cost savings, and strategic initiatives.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
  • U.S. Citizenship (required due to government contract obligations).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills with the ability to make timely, well-informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues quickly.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, specifically supporting fabrication and cable categories.
  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to fabrication and cable procurement.
