Job description

Build Small Parts That Do Big Things
KMM Group is hiring an experienced CNC Swiss Programmer to support complex, tight-tolerance manufacturing for medical device, aerospace, defense, space, and high-tech customers.
Swiss programming means solving real manufacturing problems on mission-critical components where precision, process control, and smart decisions matter. You will develop, modify, optimize, and support CNC Swiss programs for complex parts made from metals and engineered plastics. This is not basic button-pushing or repetitive programming work.
If you are the kind of programmer who thinks beyond the code, understands how tooling, workholding, material behavior, coolant, inspection, and process stability all fit together, this role gives you room to use that knowledge.
Up to $4,000 Hiring Bonus!
What You'll Do
  • Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC Swiss machining programs
  • Program and support 9-axis, 12-axis, and multi-axis Swiss machinery
  • Work with Citizen Swiss machines preferred, with Star, Tornos, or similar Swiss lathe experience also valued
  • Develop CNC programs using Esprit, PartMaker, SolidCAM, Mastercam, or equivalent CAM software
  • Use and edit G-code to improve cycle time, part quality, tool life, and process consistency
  • Interpret blueprints, customer specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements
  • Support machining of complex part features including 3D surfaces, thin walls, angular features, micro-machined details, tight tolerances, and small precision components
  • Select and design cutting tools, collets, guide bushings, grippers, fixtures, and inspection support tools
  • Create setup sheets, work instructions, inspection plans, and process documentation
  • Collaborate with machinists, setup technicians, quality inspectors, engineers, and production leaders
  • Support high-volume, unattended, and lights-out machining through tool life strategy, coolant management, and process control
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, material movement, dimensional variation, finish, burrs, and repeatability
  • Mentor machinists and setup team members on advanced Swiss machining techniques
  • Help improve production machining processes for efficiency, repeatability, and quality

• What We're Looking For
This role is a strong fit for someone who is dependable, curious, and hands-on.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC Swiss setup and operation experience
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC Swiss programming experience
  • Strong CAM programming experience with Esprit, PartMaker, SolidCAM, Mastercam, or similar
  • Experience with Citizen Swiss machines preferred
  • Experience with Star, Tornos, or other Swiss-type CNC lathes accepted
  • Strong understanding of multi-axis milling, turning, live tooling, screw machining, Swiss lathe programming, and micromachining
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, specifications, and inspection requirements
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming
  • Experience machining materials such as titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel, plastics, and engineered polymers
  • Experience with complex, tight-tolerance parts for regulated or high-spec industries
  • Familiarity with first article inspection, in-process inspection, setup verification, and production documentation
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Advanced technical training, machining certifications, or manufacturing engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, contract manufacturing, or tight-tolerance production machining is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, controls, gauges, and measuring instruments.
  • Distinguish colors, displays, indicators, and measurement markings when performing programming, setup verification, and inspection-related tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with machinists, engineers, quality personnel, and production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Visually inspect parts, tooling, machine displays, blueprints, and measurement devices, including the ability to distinguish fine details and small dimensional variations.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and lifting devices when required.
  • Work around moving mechanical equipment, cutting tools, metal chips, coolants, lubricants, and other manufacturing-related materials.
  • Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain regular attendance and work scheduled overtime as needed to support production requirements.
ITAR Requirement
KMM is an ITAR-registered facility. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or have a valid Green Card.
A Restrictive Covenant Agreement (NDA) must be executed for this position.
Confidentiality of all KMM Group business matters is a professional responsibility within the scope of this role. Confidential information includes, but is not limited to, customers, vendors, policies, operational methods, technical processes, know-how, trade secrets, pricing, delivery reports, open order reports, financial reports, financial data, and other business affairs of KMM Group.
Benefits & Perks
  • Medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Supplemental health insurance options
  • Total wellbeing programs and mobile mental health support
  • Financial Academy
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Professional development and education programs
  • Dedicated Manager of Training
  • Dedicated HR support
  • Employee advocacy support for benefits-related needs

Why KMM
You will be surrounded by experienced machinists, grinders, EDM specialists, quality professionals, and manufacturing leaders who understand that precision is built one decision at a time. Around here, people are Paid to Think. Questions matter. Curiosity matters. The person who notices a detail before it becomes a problem is valuable.
We manufacture components that support life-saving medical devices, aerospace systems, defense programs, space applications, and advanced technologies. The work is challenging because the parts are challenging. That is exactly why skilled programmers belong here.
If you are already employed but wondering whether there is a better place to use your Swiss programming experience, this is the kind of opportunity that lets you bring your full toolkit to the table.
