Job description

CNC Lathe Machine Operator Job Role:

Second Shift Machine Operator will be tasked to safely and efficiently set up and operate a CNC Mill or CNC Lathe. Machines include Okuma CNC Lathes, Mazak CNC Lathes, Mazak Mills, HAAS Mills and Mazak Integrex 5-axis machining centers. Temporary Work.

Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 3:00 PM TO 1:30 AM Pay: $25-$28/Hr OT available.

CNC Lathe Machine Operator Responsibilities:

  • Set-up including locating tools and fixtures, defining tools, touching off tools, setting jaws, vices or fixturing.
  • Obtain inspection on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
  • Write simple programs at the controls
  • Write programs to create fixturing if required
  • Identify problems before production runs,
  • Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring,
  • Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments
  • Determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements.
  • Maintain tolerancing
  • Troubleshoot issues during run
  • Knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.Over 5 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Advanced knowledge of math, blueprint comprehension and routers, required.
  • Moderate knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledge of the proper use of metrology equipment, tools/gauges and cutting tools, required.
