Under the supervision of the Butler Medical Transport Leadership team, the Paramedic plays a critical role within the Butler team, delivering high-quality medical care during both emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports. This role involves patient assessment, advanced life support administration, and safe, timely transport to medical facilities for further treatment.


As a Paramedic, you will be a vital link in the healthcare continuum, providing essential care that directly impacts patient outcomes. This role requires a blend of technical skill, quick decision-making, and strong interpersonal abilities. Our Paramedics demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to the field through advanced training and education. Working as part of a collaborative EMS team, you will ensure that all patients receive compassionate, efficient pre- and post-hospital care, upholding the highest standards of service in every transport.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, advanced life support care during interfacility transports in compliance with Butler Medical Transport, State, and DOH protocols.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to EMT crew members.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, dispatch, family members, and facility staff.
  • Operate communication devices, cell phones, and computer tablets.
  • Complete accurate patient care reports prior to shift completion.
  • Ensure vehicle and equipment readiness and cleanliness.
  • Maintain current certifications with timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs.
  • Provide excellent patient care within the scope of practice of a Paramedic
  • Respond to emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports
  • Provides effective communication with patients, dispatch, crews, family members, and facility staff

  • Completion of patient contact reports prior to shift completion

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation From High School or equivalent
  • Must be at least19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes
  • Successful completion of NR Paramedic certification
  • Current NR Paramedic and State Paramedic (or ability to obtain with in 10 days of hire)
  • Current AHA BLS CPR, ACLS, PALS or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
  • Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice
  • Knowledge of all state protocols for a Paramedic
  • Valid Photo ID
  • Ability to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to speak and write English


PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of pumps, vents, and monitors utilized in EMS care
