Job description

The Title Examiner position will provide our new hire with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group’s Title Department. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong desire to progress within our organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Examine title reports provided by third party search vendors for mortgage foreclosure transactions
  • Identify necessary Defendants to a judicial mortgage foreclosure action
  • Identify parties required to receive notice of a non-judicial foreclosure action
  • Identify superior interests, title defects and title curative issues
  • Utilize online search portals for in-house tax and title searches
  • Ability to use online tools to plot metes and bounds legal descriptions
  • Knowledge of using online websites to obtain aerial views of the subject property
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of title examination experience is required – preferably in the mortgage foreclosure arena
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and efficiency
  • Experience using PDF applications such as Adobe Acrobat and eCopy to markup title reports
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience performing paperless title examinations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-state examination experience, preferably in some or all of the following states: CA, DE, GA, KY, IL, MD, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, MI and VA
