The Management and Organization (M&O) Department in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) has a full-time tenure-track position in the areas of Organizational Behavior (OB), Organizational Theory (OT), or Strategy. We seek to fill this position at the rank of Full Professor. The position is to fill the Smeal Chaired Professor of Management. The desired start date for the position is Fall 2027. Candidates must have a PhD, a proven track record in conducting high-quality scholarly research with sufficient impact of that work on the field, and demonstrated teaching competence at a high level.

Job Requirement: The preferred candidate will have publications in premier journals, a research program with high-impact, and is able to connect with a wide array of doctoral students and faculty in our department. Faculty members in the M&O department are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in professional service. Onsite teaching is an essential function of the job

For the Smeal Chaired Professor specifically, there is an expectation of sustained research excellence and thought leadership, an established history of mentorship, high ethical standards for their own professional work, and a strategic vision for growing and sustaining the research culture within the M&O department.

Our department offers two undergraduate majors (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Management), two online masters programs (Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Strategic Management and Executive Leadership), a PhD program, courses in Smeal's full-time rMBA and DBA programs, courses in Smeal's part-time hMBA and OMBA, and operates the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (which includes the Garber Venture Capital Fund).
