Job description

Promera is a leading provider of critical environment management solutions for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, cleanrooms, life sciences facilities, and other highly regulated operational environments. For over 45 years, we've helped clients protect the performance, reliability, and compliance of their most demanding facilities through specialized technical services, workforce solutions, installation services, and operational expertise.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a hunter-led, consultative sales role focused on creating demand, opening new logos, and building durable, long-term client partnerships. This individual must bring a demonstrated track record of successfully selling complex solutions and services, consistently winning net-new business, and navigating dynamic, fast-moving environments.

While we are seeking a BDM to represent all of our lines of business, we are looking for someone to support our Installation business line as we grow that offering. The Business Development Manager will expand our presence with general contractors, data center owners and operators, engineering firms, and enterprise customers throughout the region.

What You'll Work On

  • Own and execute a net-new business development strategy focused on installation services within an assigned territory.
  • Consistently identify, pursue, and close new logos across mission-critical, commercial, industrial, and life sciences construction markets.
  • Lead discovery-based conversations to understand project scope, installation requirements, construction timelines, operational challenges, and customer priorities.
  • Develop tailored installation solutions for customers, including critical equipment installation, raised access flooring, containment systems, cable tray and ladder rack installation, mechanical support systems, cleanroom installations, equipment relocation, and turnkey installation projects.
  • Sell consultatively by aligning Promera's installation expertise, technical capabilities, and workforce solutions with each client's unique project requirements.
  • Identify and develop opportunities within new construction, data center builds, facility expansions,  and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Build strong relationships with general contractors, mission-critical contractors, engineering and design firms, owners, developers, construction managers, and facility operators.
  • Grow initial installation projects into repeat engagements, multi-site projects, and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to develop competitive proposals, installation strategies, and project execution plans.
  • Engage technical leaders and subject matter experts to support solution development, project scoping, and complex sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, activity tracking, forecasting, and opportunity progression within the CRM.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed new logo, pipeline, installation revenue, and gross margin targets.
  • Represent Promera at industry events, customer meetings, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence and generate new business.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months

  • Build a healthy, qualified pipeline of installation opportunities across mission-critical, commercial, industrial, and life sciences markets.
  • Successfully close multiple net-new customers and installation projects that meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
  • Develop strong relationships with general contractors, owners, engineering firms, and construction managers, resulting in repeat business and referrals.
  • Expand initial project wins into larger, multi-phase, or multi-site installation engagements.
  • Become recognized internally and externally as a trusted installation partner known for delivering quality, reliability, and execution excellence.
  • Establish Promera as a preferred installation contractor within the assigned territory through consistent business development activity and customer engagement.
  • 5+ years of successful B2B business development experience, preferably in the service and technician field.
  • Experience selling construction services, installation services, specialty contracting, or mission-critical solutions.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and consistently exceed sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project lifecycles.
  • Experience selling into general contractors, owners, engineering firms, or facility operators.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or Pipedrive.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Benefits
