The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise, including deep understanding of lending products, credit processes, and client servicing requirements.
  • Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities, with specific accountability for supporting lending relationship managers, driving loan processing efficiency, and enhancing client experience across lending services.
  • Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues, including coordination of loan onboarding, credit documentation, deal implementation, and ongoing portfolio support.
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with Relationship Managers, Credit, Portfolio Management, Operations, and Risk partners to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of lending processes.
  • Acts as a primary point of contact for lending-related servicing needs, ensuring timely execution of transactions, resolution of client inquiries, and proactive identification of service improvements.
  • Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and disciplinary actions, and delivers hands-on training to staff, particularly in lending workflows, systems, and client servicing standards.
  • Develops periodic goals, organizes work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of work, including loan documentation, reporting, covenant tracking, and exception management.
  • Oversees and supports loan pipeline management, ensuring accurate tracking of deal status, adherence to timelines, and effective communication across stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements related to lending activities, including proper documentation, audit readiness, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Partners with business leadership to identify process enhancements, technology improvements, and best practices to streamline lending support and elevate client service delivery.
  • Provides input and support to budget management processes, including resource allocation and efficiency initiatives tied to lending support functions.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, relationship managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • In-depth functional/industry knowledge is required, with strong expertise in lending products, credit processes, and loan servicing operations.

  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine Business Unit goals, assess resource needs, and develop team capabilities.
  • Proficiency in lending systems, reporting tools, and workflow management platforms is preferred.
Salary Range:
$131,905 - 224,135 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
