Position Summary

Antica Terra is seeking a Manager, Finance & Business Operations to partner closely with the Vice President of Finance in leading the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting accounting operations, inventory accounting, financial systems, internal controls, and continuous process improvement. The position provides oversight of the monthly close, performs complex accounting activities, partners across the organization to improve business processes, and helps build a scalable Finance & Business Operations function.

Working alongside the accounting team, this role balances technical accounting expertise with operational leadership and continuous process improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Accounting

  • Provide oversight of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
  • Partner with the Senior Accountant to ensure timely and accurate completion of close activities.
  • Review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Research technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Strengthen internal controls and recommend improvements to financial processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate annual audit activities and assist with tax compliance.

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Own perpetual inventory accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Oversee product costing methodologies and inventory controls.
  • Analyze inventory, production, and costing variances.
  • Partner with Operations to improve inventory accuracy throughout production, storage, and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate physical inventories and cycle count programs.
  • Develop reporting that improves visibility into inventory performance.

Business Operations

  • Lead continuous improvement of the Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Strengthen purchasing controls, vendor management, and finance operations.
  • Support payroll administration and related accounting activities.
  • Assist with banking administration, insurance, licensing, and finance compliance activities.
  • Develop standardized procedures that improve operational efficiency and consistency.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Leverage ERP and other business systems to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes while strengthening internal controls.
  • Develop management reporting, KPIs, and dashboards that support business decisions.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements that support the Finance function.

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Partner with leaders across Operations, Hospitality, Sales, and Leadership.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives that improve business performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading or supporting the monthly close process.
  • Inventory and cost accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls.
  • Experience working within an ERP environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes while maintaining strong financial controls.

Preferred

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another cloud-based ERP system.
  • Experience in manufacturing, winery, food & beverage, or another inventory-intensive industry.
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow automation, or business systems optimization.
