JOB SCOPE:  

This position requires strong analytical and technical abilities, and requires fast, but carefully thought-out results to exceed customer expectations. You will be a champion of customer service and help Premier Trailer Leasing meet operational and organizational financial objectives. You will be responsible for executing operational processes and supporting branch performance objectives. This is a highly hands-on operations role. Approximately 70-80% of the workday is spent outdoors in a trailer yard interacting with customers, drivers, vendors, and equipment. You will be working outdoors in all seasons and varying weather conditions, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

This is an on-site position at Premier's branch office in Portland, OR.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Spend most of each workday outdoors conducting trailer inspections, managing yard activity, coordinating with customers and vendors, and monitoring equipment movement throughout the branch location.

  • Conduct trailer inspections in accordance with company procedures and identify equipment requiring repair or maintenance to help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.

  • Generate customer rental agreements.

  • Coordinate all work performed on trailers with vendors as well as ensure the work performed follows Premiersโ€™ policies and procedures.

  • Manage and reconcile all equipment inventory both out-bound and in-bound gate activity daily.

  • Assist in the transportation of equipment between branches as well as to customers and vendors.

  • Ensure all customers have the proper insurance prior to renting a trailer.

  • Assist with Accounts Receivable collections.

  • Daily administrative paperwork and filing.

  • Assist in answering phones, responding to emails and questions from customers.

  • Mechanical Aptitudes: Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles, operations and functioning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Preferred: Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant operations, transportation, logistics, leasing, or equipment management experience.  

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable and organized.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions outdoors for extended periods while utilizing company-provided safety equipment and following heat and cold prevention and safety protocols.

  • Frequently walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Enter and exit trailers multiple times per day.

  • Work at ground level underneath trailers when inspecting equipment.

  • Use ladders or steps to access equipment when necessary.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
