What You'll Do
As a Business Analyst you will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping define, document, and deliver technology solutions that support Rural King's retail and digital operations. This role will focus on understanding business needs, translating them into functional and technical requirements, and supporting the successful implementation of systems and enhancements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced IT environment, supporting a wide range of projects across eCommerce, order management, middleware, and enterprise applications-recognizing that technologies and project scopes may vary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders and Product Owners to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IT initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects across retail, eCommerce, and enterprise systems.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and test plans to ensure project quality and completeness.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align teams on goals, requirements, and process improvements.
  • Support testing and validation phases through test case development, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including business process maps, data flow diagrams, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Product Owners to ensure projects remain aligned with strategic objectives and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhanced user experience across systems.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT, retail, or eCommerce environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and project delivery frameworks.
  • Experience working with requirements management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical and functional documentation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise retail systems such as eCommerce, Order Management, Middleware, ERP, or CRM platforms (technologies may vary).
  • Experience collaborating with Product Owners and technical teams in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities to bridge business and technical perspectives.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and address challenges that may arise in relationships.
  • Ability to identify and addressing deviations from an established process.
