Business Development Manager — Western/Central US

Remote — Candidate must reside in and cover the Western/Central US territory

Your Impact from Day One

As a Business Development Manager (BDM) at CSols, you won't just sell services — you will serve as a strategic consultant to organizations transforming their scientific data management. Driving growth across the Western and Central US, you'll identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and position CSols as the premier provider of laboratory informatics solutions (including LIMS, ELN, and enterprise systems). Additionally, you'll be one of our pioneer business development hires helping bring CSols's new AI-enablement offerings to market.

The Team You'll Be Joining: Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you will collaborate closely with delivery experts and peer sales reps to transform complex client needs into scoped, successful partnerships.

What You Will Achieve

  • Territory Management: Execute a strategic sales plan across the Western/Central US, leading prospecting efforts and closing high-value service contracts.
  • Strategic Consulting: Partner with laboratory directors, IT leaders, and QA executives to understand and solve their informatics pain points.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through targeted outreach, networking, and leveraging CSols’s industry-leading reputation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technical delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, accurate, and tailored to client needs.
  • AI-Enabled Positioning: Engage prospects on applied AI trends, demonstrating how CSols capabilities translate emerging technologies into measurable business value.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor trends across life sciences, chemicals, and food & beverage sectors to effectively position CSols against competitors.
Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 5–10 years of proven success in business development or technical sales, ideally within laboratory informatics or scientific consulting.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience); a background in a science discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with laboratory informatics (LIMS, ELN, CDS, or analytics) is preferred. Existing industry relationships are a bonus, but we welcome strong technical-sales generalists who learn quickly.
  • AI & Data Fluency: Comfortable discussing how connected data workflows and AI impact modern laboratories. Key to success is genuine curiosity and the ability to articulate business value.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a knack for translating complex technical requirements into clear executive value propositions.
  • Travel: Ability to travel within the assigned territory (~30%) for client meetings and industry conferences.
Compensation & Growth
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000–$140,000 (uncapped)
  • Commission Structure: Direct commission on all new and partner business, plus quarterly bonuses for account growth.
