Job description

Business Intelligence Analyst I

This position is onsite at the Corporate Headquarters located in Kenosha, WI. The Business Intelligence Analyst I designs, builds, and supports reporting and analytics solutions of moderate complexity. This role works with business partners to clarify needs, develops Power BI reports and data models, and helps ensure that data used for decision-making is accurate, timely, and well-documented. The position works with some independence but still receives guidance from more senior analysts on design, standards, and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into clear report specifications, including metrics, filters, and visual layouts.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and reusable datasets following BI team standards.
  • Create and optimize basic to moderately complex data models and DAX measures to support reporting needs.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries or use existing curated data models to retrieve and transform data for reporting.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of all new and updated reports, including data reconciliation to source systems.
  • Monitor report refreshes and usage; assist in troubleshooting performance or data quality issues.
  • Maintain documentation for owned reports, datasets, and data transformations, including data definitions and lineage.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, application, and business teams to resolve data issues and improve data readiness.
  • Contribute to the BI team's standards, templates, and best practices; participate in peer reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in a specifically related field is preferred; equivalent work experience is acceptable in place of this requirement.
  • 1-4 years of professional experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or application development.
  • Hands-on experience building reports or dashboards in Power BI or a similar enterprise BI platform.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data.
  • Understanding of basic data modeling concepts (tables, joins, keys, measures, dimensions).
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple requests, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power BI semantic models, row-level security, and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to enterprise data warehouse or cloud data platforms.
  • Experience working within a structured SDLC, using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts and the use of shared or certified datasets.
