Job description

Power BI & SSRS Business Intelligence Developer

Full-time

Our executive dashboards, reseller performance reports, and financial analytics run on Power BI with data sourced from SQL Server Analysis Services tabular models. We need a BI developer who builds star schemas on instinct and can write a DAX measure that handles a time intelligence calculation with bidirectional cross-filtering without looking at the docs.

Responsibilities
  • — Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for finance, sales, operations, and compliance teams
  • — Design and develop SSAS tabular models (compatibility level 1600) — partitions, calculated tables, calculation groups
  • — Write complex DAX measures: time intelligence, semi-additive measures, row-level security patterns
  • — Maintain SSRS paginated reports for regulatory filings, customer statements, and operational checklists
  • — Build and maintain ETL pipelines (SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory) populating the enterprise data warehouse
  • — Document data lineage, calculation logic, and report specifications for change management
Requirements
  • — 5+ years of Power BI development, including Power BI Service administration
  • — Expert-level DAX — you understand filter context, context transition, and can debug with DAX Studio
  • — Experience designing SSAS tabular models and managing partitions and processing strategies
  • — Strong T-SQL — complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization
  • — Experience with SSRS report design: parameters, subreports, drill-through, expressions
Nice to Have
  • — Experience with Power BI Embedded for customer-facing analytics
  • — Knowledge of Azure Analysis Services migration path
  • — Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric — Lakehouse, SQL endpoint, Direct Lake mode
