Weinstein Properties, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is a family-owned company with 60+ years of success that owns and self-manages apartment communities in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. We are singularly focused on the customer experience, which informs everything we do and is a key to our success.

To help build on this success, we are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer. This position will be responsible for replacing static reports with interactive dashboards that make our data easy to explore and understand. This role will initially focus on querying data in MySQL and SQL Server, shaping it in Python, and storing it in Microsoft Fabric to facilitate building scalable Power BI dashboards. In the long run, you will help support our larger goal to centralize and simplify access to reporting using tools that expand beyond Power BI.

You'll work from within our data analysis team, working closely with our IT team and various stakeholders to own the design, build, and rollout of high-impact dashboards. We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and excited to build tools that people actually use.

If you're strong technically and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't check every box below. We are particularly motivated to find a candidate that strikes the balance between data engineering (building pipelines from source to page) and design aesthetics/user experience.

If this is you, apply online today!

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience writing SQL to query and transform data
  • Working knowledge of Python for automating data tasks
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Experience with warehousing data in a cloud platform
  • Experience building dashboards or reports in Power BI (or a similar BI tool)
  • Clear communication skills
  • Comfort learning new tools and technologies as needed

  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse environments, or modern cloud data platforms
  • Experience deploying dashboards to broad internal audiences
  • Experience with front-end web development, including HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Familiarity with data refresh processes and performance optimization
  • Experience collaborating with IT teams on data pipelines or access controls
  • Interest in improving data quality, governance, and documentation

Employees must be available to work in the corporate office as required by the employee's manager, director, and/or department policy.
