Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team has an immediate opening for an outstanding Program Manager (PM) to help drive strategy and technical development of our fraud decisioning and decision automation programs, which support Apple Media Products (AMP) and Commerce business.
Description
PMs conceptualize, build, and deliver analytic solutions that enable Apple to provide exceptional products and services to its customers and business partners. They partner with business, engineering, and operations teams to structure and drive cross-functional engineering, machine learning, and operations initiatives to detect and mitigate fraud, generate revenue, and streamline business operations.
Given the adversarial nature of fraud and complexity of Apple’s diverse business problems, we are constantly challenged to innovate together, drawing from diverse perspectives as we design and build new solutions. PMs play a critical role in the team’s success by understanding business priorities, establishing team strategy, ensuring good communication, building a deep understanding of our systems & analytics, bringing structure and clarity to uncertain situations with competing priorities, and driving progress towards deliverables. Doing all of this, while building deep business relationships focussing on teamwork and innovation in order to drive results will be essential. This role provides an opportunity to exercise interpersonal, organizational, technical, analytical and leadership skills.
The PM role includes:
• Working collaboratively with our team of data scientists, engineers, analysts, and program managers
• Developing partnerships across a variety of business and engineering teams across Apple
• Identifying new business opportunities and developing analytic solutions with clear product functional requirements and technical implementation roadmaps.
• Prioritizing team work to balance impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, success likelihood, and risk
• Providing day-to-day project management that includes: coordinating activities by internal & partner teams, tracking progress towards milestones, continuously adapting plans to changes, and keeping teams and leadership informed
• Getting hands on with the details of engineering and analytical projects, including system / data design, fraud logic, key performance metrics, and the full software development release lifecycle
• Working under limited supervision, using good judgment about when to seek guidance
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate at the right level of detail for each project stage and audience
Ability to manage conflicting ideas, to ensure all voices are heard, and to own the hard calls
Previous experience in engineering, data analysis, machine learning or fraud detection/response
Previous experience in payments, finance or digital experience would be beneficial
Minimum Qualifications
BS / MS in any analytical, quantitative, or technical field (engineering, math, computer science, finance, analytics, statistics, or similar), or equivalent experience
Ability to perform business discovery, simplify and define problems, extract key information, and propose innovative solutions
Ability to grasp the details of complex business / engineering / analytic problems and to provide in-depth evaluations
Possess a strong sense of project risk including the ability to predict, notice, clarify, assess, track, and mitigate
Experience structuring and leading large cross-functional technical / analytic projects
Experience aligning project schedules across distributed engineering and QA teams through collaboration and influence
Ability to drive change through positive influence of co-workers, leaders, and business partners
Experience motivating and empowering others to do the right things first
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with individuals at all levels and develop close partnerships
Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
