Job description

SUMMARY:
Responsible for properly performing all financial activities related to accounts payable, in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls.
Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to...
Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.
Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.
Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Ensure all disbursements are adequately documented, supported, approved and coded.
  • Work with purchasing, receiving and other departments to resolve differences in supporting documentation.
  • Interact with property-level operational and financial departments to ensure proper payment of authorized transactions in accordance with purchase orders, receivers, invoices and requests for disbursement.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. AGE and GAMING:
21 years of age or above
Gaming property - Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED is required. One to three-(1-3) year experience with automated accounts payable and inventory/purchasing system is preferred.
TESTING:
Must be able to type a minimum of 45 WPM with 85% accuracy, 10-Key a minimum of 8000 KPH with 95% accuracy, achieve a score of 70% or better within 20 minutes on the Excel test, score at least 84.5% on a Basic Math test, and no minimum score for Data Entry. Must take the required testing identified for this position.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate, with superior spreadsheet skills. Must successfully learn the Pearl River Resort's automated Accounts Payable System and Inventory Control/Purchasing System within 90 days of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend basic instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds, and sit and talk for extended periods in excess of 4 hours. Must be able to walk or stand for 50% of the assign shift. Excess use of a computer, monitor and calculator is probable and possible eye strain may be encountered.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
