Job description

Position Summary

Landmark Builders is seeking a full-time Director of Business Development to join our Columbia, SC office. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new construction and investment opportunities, maintaining a strong presence in the business community, and building lasting relationships with customers, developers, and civic partners throughout the region. The Director of Business Development serves as the face of Landmark in the market โ€” connecting the companyโ€™s capabilities with the people and projects that drive growth.

Key Responsibilities Market Development & Networking
  • Identify prospective construction and investment opportunities in the Columbia/Midlands market.
  • Maintain visibility in the community where new opportunities could exist.
  • Engage in civic and community activities that provide insight and networking opportunities in targeted markets.
  • Identify and participate in relevant committees, boards, and groups in the region, including the CRE community, commercial and industrial developers, business groups and chambers of commerce, and government partners (planners, permitting, municipal infrastructure).
Customer & Community Relationships
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key Landmark customers, both end users and developers.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of major pending developments in the region and leverage Landmark where applicable.
  • Act as a general market resource to both new and existing Landmark customers.
Internal Collaboration
  • Balance and serve internal customer needs.
  • Provide content to the marketing department and engage with RFP/proposal development when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in relationship and customer development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
