Position Summary

CVG, a leader in full-service product development and manufacturing, seeks a strategic and growth-oriented Account Manager to own and expand relationships within our key OEM client portfolio. This pivotal role is not just about maintaining accounts; it's about becoming a trusted partner who uncovers new opportunities, drives revenue growth, and ensures the flawless execution of custom plastic solutions—from injection and compression molding to value-add assemblies. You will be the primary link between our clients and our cross-functional teams, directly impacting customer success and our company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary strategic contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of existing OEM clients, building long-term partnerships to ensure their needs are met and satisfaction is high. Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets, expand market share within each account, and maximize customer lifetime value. Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess performance, identify new needs and opportunities, and align CVG's capabilities with their evolving roadmaps.

  • Revenue Growth & Business Development (30%)

Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts (upsell/cross-sell) and through targeted prospecting within the OEM space. Lead the full sales cycle from initial opportunity through RFQ analysis, proposal development, negotiation of contracts and pricing, and successful closure. Utilize industry networking, disciplined cold outreach, and market analysis to build a robust pipeline that supports growth objectives.

  • Collaborative Project Execution & Support (20%)

Collaborate seamlessly with internal cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Logistics, Quality) to ensure the successful launch, delivery, and ongoing support of projects, acting as the client's advocate internally. Provide exceptional post-sales support by resolving issues, addressing inquiries, and ensuring smooth project execution to guarantee customer success. Support internal team to resolve customer related issues timely and effectively.

  • Market Intelligence & Operations (10%)

Maintain and prepare regular sales forecasts and activity reports for management. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to inform strategy and identify potential opportunities or threats.

  • Travel as Needed (up to 20%)

Travel as needed to client sites, production facilities, and industry events.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of account management or inside sales experience, preferably in plastics or with a track record of developing new clientele in B2B OEM industries. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships.

  • Skills: Creative problem-solving, influencing skills, strong organizational and time management abilities, self-starter with initiative, excellent written and oral communication, business analytical skills, strategic thinking, proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Knowledge: Strong familiarity with account management, RFQ process, and financial impact assessment. Preferably knowledgeable about injection molding custom solutions in plastics (including tooling).
  • Abilities: Willingness to travel 20%, work independently or within a team, solve practical problems, collaborate with customers and internal departments, and think strategically. Effective communication across customer hierarchies and functions of major OEM companies. Proven track record of winning new business and nurturing relationships. High proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to understand and convey technical information effectively. Skilled negotiator with a strong understanding of the industrial or contract manufacturing industry.
