- Lead direct contact interface on and with new business development to include creating and managing Strategic Enterprise Market Accounts, OEM Certification and OEM Certified network programs including CO-Ops.
Primary Function Detail:
- Strategic Enterprise and OEM Leadership: The Strategic Enterprise Market Business Development manager will negotiate and establish direct agreements with Strategic automotive market clients and relevant parties to facilitate business development contracts for sales for frequent delivery of Enterprise Solution offerings, or other means to identify vehicles affected by both NHTSA-mandated and voluntary recalls. In addition, and as applicable, identify and distinguish between voluntary recalls and warranty extensions (aka service action programs).
- Comprehending Recall overview & definition types = Voluntary recalls are manufacturing defects identified after vehicle production and delivery that the OEM may or may not deem safety-related but for which the OEM has for some reason, such as to avoid a higher repair cost, damage to its reputation, or a full-blow NHTSA-mandated recall down the road, decided to provide notification and repair at no cost to affected vehicle owners. By proactively issuing voluntary recalls, OEMs are seeking to keep defect management fully in-house and signal an increased sense of responsibility to avoid further investigation by the NHTSA. RECALL MASTERS distinguishes between NHTSA-mandated and voluntary recalls based on whether a NHTSA Recall ID has been assigned to the recall as indicated on the OEM or NHTSA Recall Search websites. Voluntary recalls have only an OEM Recall ID and do not typically appear on the NHTSA Recall Search website, despite being genuine recalls.
- Comprehending NHTSA-mandated recalls, voluntary recalls, Emissions Recalls and warranty extensions may prompt a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) write-up or related field service action notice to be circulated among dealers; however, an Enterprise Client dealer may not proactively market to or seek out vehicles affected by warranty extensions. RECALL MASTERS distinguishes voluntary recalls from warranty extensions based on whether or not the OEM itself delivered a letter to vehicle owners apprising them of the vehicle defect and inviting them in for the repair; this is something they would never do for a warranty extension, which a dealer is authorized to repair only if it is identified as an issue during an unrelated service visit or a vehicle owner complains about a symptomatic issue or otherwise brings the defect to a dealer's attention.
- Assist in OEM Data Acquisition: The Enterprise Business Development Manager will endeavor to prioritize the establishment of Recall Data Feed Agreements as directed by the SR Director and compiled by the Company. The OEM recall data feeds will be responsible for establishing and enabling RECALL MASTERS to establish industry standards and benchmarks for Quality and Transparency. The Company and its Executive Leadership Team (ELT) management will advise as to the state of any prior or existing OEM relationships and related recall data feeds, and provide the Sr Director with, when possible and appropriate, an introduction to and the contact information for relevant OEM personnel.
- Enterprise Services and OEM Strategy Execution: The Enterprise Business Development Manager will assist in the Strategy and Operations of the Channel and is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading all aspects of assigned accounts and Industry engagement.
