Job description

What we are looking for:

Aldridge is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and energetic Transportation team.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement the business development strategy to meet business plan objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships that will lead to potential projects.
  • Identify key pursuits and position Aldridge for success by differentiating us from the competition.
  • Utilize internal resources effectively to secure profitable business while reducing project risk at the bid stage. 
  • Lead a team of operational seller/doers to assist in the implementation of the business development plan.
  • Research industry developments and market trends, while gaining knowledge of shifts in funding, technologies, and scopes of work.
  • Understand client funding, capital, and project life cycle.
  • Leverage and grow existing Aldridge customer relationships to expand share of wallet
  • Champion Aldridge CRM Tool for accurate reporting and consistent client engagement.
  • Identify potential project leads in the early stage, building and maintaining the project pipeline.
  • Identify key players in various projects and customer organizations.
  • Build and leverage relationships with clients and prospective clients at major utilities, contractors and engineering firms that lead to potential projects.
  • Develop marketing and capture plans for all work that fits the Aldridge strategy and business plan.
  • Gain and share knowledge of new industry technologies, utilities' budget process and rate case, and future changes that may shift the market.
  • Anticipate market disruptors and provide creative solutions.
  • Develop and drive bid/proposal strategies.
  • Provide operational assistance by utilizing relationships as a resource to resolve project issues.
  • Document all customer interactions, project opportunities and contacts in Aldridge CRM tool (Coessential).

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5 years' minimum experience in transportation space with utility, equipment supplier, construction or engineering firm or equivalent
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis
  • Established network within general contractors, utilities, engineering firms, developers, and their supply chain
  • Strong presence and "seller" aptitude
  • Ability to formulate and share creative solutions
  • Great organization, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a strong but diplomatic advocate for your ideas in front of executives
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Must maintain the highest level of integrity in all aspects of business

What we offer: 

The annual base pay for this role is between 180,000 - 210,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for vehicle allowance and bonus.
