Farmers Insurance District 80, led by District Manager Candice Salcedo, is seeking an Agency Business Consultant to support and develop a network of more than 40 independent Farmers agency owners throughout the San Jose area.


This is a unique opportunity to combine business consulting, sales coaching, recruiting, and leadership development into one rewarding career. You'll work directly with agency owners to help them grow their businesses, improve sales performance, recruit and develop talent, and create long-term success.


You'll also play a key role in identifying and mentoring future Farmers agency owners by guiding candidates through the recruitment, licensing, onboarding, and launch process. From helping new agencies open their doors to coaching established agencies toward higher levels of performance, you'll make a measurable impact across the district.


This role is ideal for professionals with experience in sales leadership, business development, insurance, recruiting, coaching, or management who enjoy solving problems, building relationships, and helping others succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Farmers agency owners to develop strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, and long-term business success.
  • Coach agents and their teams on sales techniques, customer acquisition, retention, and agency operations.
  • Analyze agency performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop action plans to achieve key business goals.
  • Recruit, interview, and develop prospective agency owners and agency staff.
  • Guide new agency owners through onboarding, training, and business launch activities.
  • Assist agencies with recruiting strategies, staffing plans, and building high-performing sales teams.
  • Deliver training on Farmers products, sales processes, technology platforms, and best practices.
  • Create and present training materials, workshops, and business development resources.
  • Monitor production trends and performance metrics using reporting tools and data analysis to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager to support district initiatives, business planning, recruiting efforts, and agency development programs.
  • Build strong relationships with agency owners by serving as a trusted business consultant and strategic partner.
  • Travel locally to visit agency offices throughout the San Jose area and provide in-person coaching and support.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Insurance sales or agency management
  • Sales leadership, coaching, or training
  • Recruiting or talent acquisition
  • Business consulting or business development
  • Experience leading, coaching, or developing individuals or teams.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence others, and drive results.


Business & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, performance metrics, and business growth strategies.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and develop action plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience using CRM systems, reporting tools, or sales dashboards.


Communication & Leadership:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable leading meetings, delivering training, and coaching professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.


Licensing:

  • Ability to obtain California Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance licenses (licensing assistance provided).
