Your Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and relationship-driven Business Development Coordinator to support the firm's growth initiatives across marketing, business development, pursuit strategy, and client engagement. This role serves as a key member of the business development team, partnering with firm leadership, market sector leaders, and project teams to strengthen client relationships, increase market visibility, support strategic pursuits, and advance the firm's business development objectives.
The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in the AEC industry or another professional services environment and demonstrate strong communication, marketing, organizational, and relationship management skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to strategic growth initiatives while developing expertise in business development, marketing, and client engagement.
Your Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development Support
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support annual business development plans, target client strategies, and market sector growth initiatives.
  • Assist with identifying, researching, and tracking prospective clients, projects, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, competitive activity, client priorities, and industry developments.
  • Support the development and execution of pursuit-specific capture strategies and pre-positioning activities.
  • Contribute to Go/No-Go evaluations and opportunity qualification efforts.
  • Assist leadership with business development reporting, pipeline analysis, and strategic planning activities.
  • Help document and communicate business development intelligence, lessons learned, and win/loss trends.

Marketing & Strategic Pursuits
  • Coordinate development and production of proposals, qualifications packages, interview presentations, and pursuit materials.
  • Maintain project sheets, resumes, client references, award submissions, and other marketing collateral.
  • Support pursuit teams in gathering content, coordinating schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality submissions.
  • Assist with presentation strategy, messaging, and visual communication efforts for interviews and client presentations.
  • Ensure consistency of branding, messaging, and quality standards across all marketing and pursuit materials.
  • Coordinate internal communications highlighting project successes, client wins, thought leadership, and firm initiatives.

Social Media & Brand Visibility
  • Coordinate and manage social media content calendars and posting schedules across firm platforms and according to firm guidelines.
  • Develop content that promotes project milestones, firm achievements, industry insights, community engagement, and thought leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with technical staff and leadership to identify market-relevant content and success stories.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to improve visibility and audience engagement.
  • Support website updates, digital marketing initiatives, and online brand positioning efforts.

Client Engagement Planning & Management
  • Support leadership in developing client engagement plans for strategic and key accounts.
  • Coordinate client meetings, relationship-building activities, networking opportunities, and follow-up actions.
  • Track client interactions, engagement activities, and relationship development initiatives.
  • Assist with planning and execution of client events, conferences, sponsorships, and industry programs.
  • Develop familiarity with key clients, industry organizations, and market influencers.
  • Help ensure consistent client outreach and engagement activities are aligned with the firm's growth objectives.

Business Development Operations & CRM Management
  • Maintain accurate client, project, contact, and opportunity information within the firm's CRM platform.
  • Generate pipeline reports, client activity reports, and business development performance metrics.
  • Track business development activities, pursuits, and marketing investments.
  • Support budget tracking for marketing, sponsorships, conferences, memberships, and business development initiatives.
  • Coordinate documentation, approvals, and reporting related to business development and marketing activities.
  • Assist with maintaining business development processes, standards, and reporting procedures.

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with firm leadership, market leaders, marketers, and project teams to support growth initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between business development, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Participate in pursuit planning meetings, business development reviews, and growth strategy discussions.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented approach that supports firmwide business development efforts.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Required
  • Experience supporting strategic pursuits and capture planning efforts.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and best practices.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and marketing campaigns.
  • Understanding of AEC client development and procurement processes.
  • Experience coordinating client events, conferences, sponsorships, and networking activities.

Your Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, marketing, pursuit coordination, or related roles within the AEC industry or professional services environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience preparing proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, and marketing materials.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and managing business development data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal teams, clients, and industry partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
