Job description

Who we are

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.

Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We're changing that.

Atoms builds Physical AI- real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.

This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don't just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.

We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.

If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.

About the role

This is a Business Development Associate role on the Enterprise team. Our team focuses on selling ATOMS Food products and services to the most loved restaurant brands in the country and building long-term strategic partnerships to drive growth and scale.

As a Business Development Associate, you get to own a market: finding the right operators, building the relationship, running the pitch, and helping to get the deal signed. You'll spend real time in data such as delivery volumes, trade-area whitespace, P&L pro formas, and cannibalization risk, and turn it into a case that a VP of Development or a CFO finds hard to argue with. You'll own a book of named accounts and facilitate the research, the pitch, and securing strategic conversations with our brands' leadership teams.

What you'll do

Account Strategy & Analysis

  • Build deep, structured analyses of enterprise restaurant brands: unit economics, development pipeline, franchisee vs. corporate mix, delivery penetration, capital position, and competitive exposure.
  • Model the opportunity. Size whitespace by market, quantify the ROIC case for a CloudKitchens facility, and pressure-test your own assumptions before anyone else does.
  • Work directly in our data - Trino, Salesforce, Otter and delivery marketplace data - and partner with Strategy and Analytics to go deeper where it matters.
  • Turn the analysis into a narrative. A model nobody can follow doesn't close anything.

Pipeline Development & Deal Support

  • Own a defined set of enterprise accounts: build the thesis, identify the right entry point, and open the conversation with a point of view rather than a template.
  • Run targeted, research-led outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn, and industry events. Fewer touches, better ones.
  • Support multi-stakeholder deal cycles alongside senior sellers - development, operations, finance, and franchising each need a different version of the case.
  • Maintain rigorous Salesforce hygiene so pipeline, account activity, and forecast are always accurate.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Track the enterprise restaurant landscape: development announcements, earnings commentary, franchise system changes, delivery strategy shifts, and competitor moves.
  • Build and maintain the account prioritization and territory logic for your book, and defend it with data.
  • Bring operator feedback and market signal back to Product, Strategy, and leadership. What you learn should change what we build and how we sell.

Operational Leverage

  • Use AI aggressively to compress research, modeling, and reporting cycles.
  • Build reusable analysis - templates, models, dashboards - that make the whole team faster.

What we're looking for

  • 1-4 years in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, strategy, revenue operations, growth, or a research-heavy BD/GTM seat. We care far more about how you think than about your exact title history.
  • Genuine analytical horsepower. You're comfortable building a model from scratch, reasoning about unit economics, and telling the difference between a number that matters and one that's just available. Fluency in Excel/Sheets required.
  • Structured thinking under ambiguity. Given a brand and a blank page, you can get to a defensible point of view on whether and why they should work with us.
  • Storytelling that lands with executives. Excellent written and verbal communication - you can compress a week of analysis into a two-page memo or a ten-minute conversation without losing the substance.
  • Commercial instinct. You're analytical, but you want the deal, not just the deck. You're energized by being in front of operators, not only behind the data.
  • High ownership. You want the outcome to be on you.
  • Comfort in a fast, high-accountability environment where priorities shift and nobody hands you a finished playbook.

Salesforce and sales tooling experience is nice to have, not required.

Prefered background

We're especially interested in people coming from:

  • Management consulting (strategy, commercial due diligence, operations)
  • Investment banking, private equity, or corporate development - particularly restaurant, consumer, franchising, or real estate coverage
  • Corporate strategy, business operations, or revenue operations at a high-growth company
  • Research-led enterprise BD or GTM strategy
  • Restaurant, hospitality, franchising, real estate, or food technology
  • High-growth technology, SaaS, or marketplace businesses

Why join us

At Atoms, you'll work on one of the defining challenges of our time-bringing automation into the physical world to drive real, lasting impact. We exist to uncover valuable unknown truths and turn them into progress, which means constantly pushing beyond what's known and building what doesn't yet exist. The work is ambitious and often challenging, but it's grounded in a shared sense of purpose and a team committed to seeing it through together. Our work only matters if it serves others, and we know that meaningful progress depends on the trust of the people we serve and the strength of our team-so we invest in both, creating an environment where you can do your best work and grow.

What else you need to know

This role is based in our New York office. Atoms is a company driven by invention and continuous change - we are constantly reimagining our industries, building new products, and refining how we operate. We do our best work together. That's why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week.

The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 per year.

Add'l Incentive Compensation: Individuals can earn an estimated annual incentive compensation range of $30,000 - $50,000 when meeting performance expectations. Actual incentive compensation varies based on individual sales performance and targets.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

Benefits Summary (USA Full-Time Exempt Employees):

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (multiple plans, incl. HSA options).
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance (short- and long-term).
  • Voluntary insurance: accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity.
  • Optional supplemental life insurance for self, spouse, and children.
  • Pet insurance discount.
  • 401(k).
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care, Commuter)
  • Time Off policies:
    • Discretionary vacation days
    • 8 paid holidays per year
    • Paid sick time
    • Paid Bereavement leave
    • Paid Parental Leave

Benefits are subject to change at the company's discretion.
Atoms accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
