Freight Sales Associate

Location: Acheson, AB (Hybrid/Remote)
Industry: Over-Dimensional & Heavy Haul Transportation

Are you a strategic sales leader with a passion for safety in oversized transportation and logistics? Join Bushell Transport Co. Ltd. and drive success in the heavy haul and over-dimensional freight industry. We’re seeking an Oversize Freight Sales Associate to expand our client base, grow long-term partnerships, and help us bring even more quality into this market.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet company targets with other team members.
  • Build and maintain lasting client relationships through exceptional service and tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations team to enhance our load management process.
  • Actively pursue new business through cold calling, networking, market research and social media.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales pitches to showcase Bushell Transport’s unique capabilities.
  • Reduce reliance on load boards by cultivating repeat and referral clients.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the sales team.
  • Explore opportunities to expand into new areas of heavy haul that are outside our current scope.

What You Bring:

  • 5 - 10+ years of experience in the transportation industry.
  • 5 - 10+ years in customer service or client-facing roles.
  • Proven track record in freight sales, business development, or logistics coordination.
  • Approachable and coachable, a desire to hunt for the best practice to improve performance.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft 365.
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel as needed to client sites.
  • Passion for safe work practices, heavy haul, over-dimensional freight, and high-stakes logistics.

Work Environment:

  • Work in an office environment or remote/hybrid with possible travel for client meetings and job site visits.
  • Occasional exposure to weather, dust, and shop environments.
  • Must be comfortable performing site walkarounds.
